Dear Family,
Transfers went well, but it was very long! The Transfer meeting was a little different this time. Instead of going to a central location (Fishers, IN) we were picked up and shipped around in a big van. My trip started in Bedford on Wednesday. Elder Smith and I went up to the Bloomington Stake Center, and Elder Ireland picked up his new companion. Then Elder Smith and I stayed the night in the Zone Leader’s apartment in Bloomington. On Thursday morning, we put our stuff into the Assistant’s trailer, and at about 8:30 AM we left Bloomington. I was getting dropped off at the Muncie Stake Center, and guess what, that was the last stop of the day. So, I rode around in this van helping people get their stuff in and out of the trailer all day. Our list of stops were: Indianapolis South Stake, Indianapolis North Stake, Indianapolis West Stake, Lafayette Stake (west side of the state), South Bend Stake (North end of State where Notre Dame University is), Fort Wayne Stake, and finally the Muncie Stake Center. I got dropped off in Muncie at about 9:40 PM, and then we had to go the rest of the way to Connersville. This was about another hour or so drive. It was OK though. I got to see a lot of the mission that I haven’t ever seen before, and I also got the chance to meet a lot of missionaries. I also got to see some missionaries I knew from past areas, so it was really fun!
Elder Lewis is my companion. He is from West Valley, Utah. He is a big missionary! He has been out on his mission for around 18 months now. We have done a lot of good work in Connersville so far.
My toothache problem is still a problem. I haven’t gotten into a dentist yet, but I am going to call Sister Corey again so that I can get it approved to go up North. There are a couple of member Dentists around Indianapolis, and I would like to get my work done there. Don't worry about me. I am fine, and it isn't too painful. Also, I did get the insurance information from you guys and that will be very helpful.
It is good to hear that Grandma is doing great. I think that she will enjoy spending her time in Cedar City. She has friends and family there so it will be good for her. Thanks for the address. I will try to write her again.
It has been cooler here lately as well. We haven’t had much frost yet, but the humidity doesn't help. I don't mind the cooler weather; I'm just not excited for the cold. That is coming up way too soon.
I am glad that you guys enjoyed conference. I really do love Elder Holland's talks. His talk that he gave last April was great as well. The way he spoke with power; that was how he spoke while I was at the MTC. I don't think I will ever forget how it felt in person. That was wonderful.
I have begun to realize that numbers aren’t important. I have realized that even if a missionary doesn't baptize anyone their entire mission, it can still be so successful. I have learned how to study out here, and I have begun to learn how to receive revelation out here. I have also gained a much greater love for the scriptures. I have only begun to learn and understand what the Atonement truly can mean for each and every one of us, and I have learned to dearly love my Father in Heaven and Christ. I don't know what I would have done without my mission.
I am glad to hear that Mike’s wedding went well. I hope that they will be very happy together, and I will be excited to meet Keysha when I get home. It sounds as if you guys were very busy on Saturday. That was a lot to put together, but it sounds as if it went well.
Thanks for taking care of my stuff for me. At this rate, I will have a stack when I get home.
I can't believe that Misti’s baby will be coming so soon. I remember when you guys told me that she was pregnant, and now this. Things are going to truly be different when I get home. Well, you might as well keep the material from the Girl quilt. You never know when another one will come along.
I thought that I would warn you that I am going to be spending a little money the next couple of weeks. I am getting some of my stuff Dry Cleaned, and I need to get some other stuff, but I hope that it won't be more than like $50.00 total. I will try to be careful.
Everything is great on this end…no worries here! I hope and pray that you guys take care of yourselves, and that no harm comes upon you.
Love,
Elder Savage
