Connersville, Indiana here I come...

Dear Family,

How is everyone doing? I have some news. I am being transferred. They are doing the transfers a little different this time around. Instead of everyone meeting at a central point and then splitting after getting their new companions, they are doing a “Wagon Train”. This means that they are driving around the mission, picking the missionaries up and then dropping them off in their new areas. They are doing this because it is going to be a small transfer this time around, and it will save some miles on the cars. They have a couple of vans that have no mileage limitations, and that is what they are going to be picking us all up in. Because of the Wagon Train, I already know where it is I am going and who I am going to be companioned with. They are sending me to Connersville with a missionary named Elder Lewis. Connersville is a town about an hour and a half North/East of Bedford. I don't really know who Elder Lewis is, but I guess that I will be finding out on Thursday.

I am a little nervous about the transfer, but it isn't near as bad as it used to be. I guess being moved around so much makes you used to it. I just hope that I can repack everything again. I seem to be getting a few extra things here and there as I go along, and I can't fit much more into my suitcases. Things will work out though! I guess I will find out what I do and don't need over the next couple of days.

So, the work in Bedford is still going well. I think that Elder Ireland will keep it that way. He seems to be a good missionary. I just hope that our investigators continue to stay solid through this whole switch up.

I don't know what my address in Connersville is yet, so if you send anything this week, just continue to send it to the Mission Office and they will get it to me.

I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Tomorrow is going to be my 9-month mark. Time has just blown by. I also can't believe that Mike is getting married in 4 days. That is so crazy! Let him know that I got his wedding invitation, and thank him for it. It was really nice to get it and know that he was thinking of me even though I can't be there.

I hope that you guys were able to enjoy General Conference. I truly did. I have begun to notice why it is said that General Conference is like the Superbowl for missionaries. It is just so great. I was able to learn so much this time around, and I truly loved it. My favorite talk had to be Elder Holland’s. It was so cool how he talked about the Book of Mormon. I can truly tell that he has a testimony of it. I hope to one day be that strong in my testimony!

Let everyone know that I am fine, and enjoying my mission. Also, tell everyone that I am planning on going to all of their farewells in the future, even Rylee’s. I don't think that you guys will ever understand what my mission has truly done for me. I have a whole new perspective on life. I truly think that I will never again look at life the way I used to. It is really wonderful to be able to focus on the eternities, and not on the Here and Now. Let me just tell you that I know that the change we must all go through in conversion is real. I have experienced it, and I hope and pray to never go back. I encourage everyone to take the chance to experience this.

I would like to bear my testimony to you about the Book of Mormon. It is a true book! I have just recently begun to understand what it truly can mean for us. I can tell you all personally that if you pray with a sincere question, with the desires described in Moroni 10:3-5, you will receive an answer. I have experienced that myself just recently. It is amazing to know that God speaks to us today. I truly know that He loves us all so much. The amount of love He has for us each individually is beyond comprehension. I would also like to ask you all to please follow all the teachings of the Prophets. Do everything that they direct us to do, because God will not let them lead us astray. Only through their direction in pointing to what Christ wants, can we truly make it through the future. I love all of you, and want you to know that I love you!

Thanks for all that you guys have done for me. I can feel your prayers affect me in my life.

Love,

Elder Savage

P.S. If anyone has any questions, go ahead and ask.  I would love to answer them.

Waiting on a “Transfer”... so we’re not sure about the address for a couple of weeks.
