At Least Through The Holidays...

Dear Family,

First off, I am staying here in Connersville for at least another 6 weeks. So, you can keep the same address. Elder Lewis is staying here with me as well. He will be my second 2-transfer companion. Hopefully, now that we know each other pretty well, we will be able to have an awesome transfer. We won't have to waste time learning how each other teaches and things like that. I think that it will work out really well.

I know what you mean about Daylight Savings Time. Because of it, we will sometimes go out to finish off the night at 6:00, and it will already be dark. Then, we have to walk around in the cold for three hours till we come in. It will take some getting used to, but it will be possible to make it. I can now see why people like the summer better though. People are more willing to talk to us during the warmer months. Once it gets really cold, people are going to start just waving us on through their windows, mouthing "Go on it is too cold". I guess it will be easier to find those that are truly ready. They will be the ones who actually talk to us.

It is too bad to hear about Grandma. That is just bad luck to be feeling so good about getting the pins removed, and then all of a sudden, having another tumble. Hopefully, she will be able to recover quickly this time as well. It sounds so painful to go through all of that. I just hope that she will try to be a little more careful next time. I want to have a Grandma there when I return home from my mission.

I hope that you all enjoy Thanksgiving this year at Grandma’s. It sounds like fun! Thank Uncle Jeff again for me for coming down to my farewell. It was nice to see him there.

I think that Thanksgiving will be interesting out here in Indiana. We have a church Thanksgiving thing this Saturday, and then we will hopefully be invited to someone’s home for Thanksgiving Day. This will be my first time away from home for the Holidays. I just hope that I will be able to have some fun with the missionaries out here. I think that we can find some fun things to do if we get creative enough. I am excited for it all.

I just can't believe that Spencer is getting married. I guess that he is older than Michael, though. I just remember him from the good old days, when we were all younger, and so I can't picture him getting married. It is also good to hear that Spencer is in school furthering his education.

You may have to send me some pictures from the Christmas party so that I can see everyone. I guess that Braxton really is in that growth spurt age. I don't know if I will be able to recognize him when I get home. Hopefully, for the most part, everyone will stay the same. I’m sure Rylee will look a lot different by then.

It is weird to hear about Albertsons, even if they haven't changed too much. It just won't be the same anymore. I just hope that everyone there will be able to keep their jobs. I wish that I had been able to wear jeans while working there.

Let me know how the situation is going with Levi. Hopefully, they will be able to find some way to help him out. I also just hope that Levi will stick with the regimen that the doctor gives to him, and keep it up. That makes a big difference. Sometimes it takes time to see something take effect. I am having to realize that out here on my mission. Sometimes it can take investigators years to come to the decision that the church is true, and join. I just think that patience is one virtue that the Lord is trying to give to all of us. It at least seems to be that way out here.

The same stuff is happening around here as well. If anything new or exciting happens I will let you know. I also can't believe that I will be calling you guys again this transfer. It will be weird because it will be right before my 1-year mark. I just don't know what to think about it all. Time just goes by so fast and I’m not sure I’m ready for it to.

I miss you guys as well, but things are just going by so fast. Before you know it, I will be home, and we will be dropping Levi off at the MTC. Life just cruises by too fast. I need to do better at stopping and smelling the roses. They just keep us always so busy out here. I think that it is actually a blessing in disguise. Without it, time would probably just inch by. Thanks for everything. Let me know if there is ever anything that I can do for you. I love you all for all that you do for me.

Love,

Elder Savage
