Thanks For The Care Packages...
Tuesday, December 8, 2009
Dear Family,
Things are going great here in Connersville. My health is improving, and the tests have come out clean so far. Best of all, the medicine that Dr. Province gave me seems to be working, because I was able to eat some 4 cheese lasagna yesterday without any problems. Sister Corey had me use the Missionary Insurance since it was something I contracted while out in the mission field. It worked out fine.
I did get your care package, and thanks for the goodies, I will put them to good use. Also, thank Aunt Trudy for sending the Christmas tree; it was a fun treat to be able to put it up when I got it. It was fun! I also got the other present from Aunt Trudy. I guess I will just have to wait until Christmas Eve to be able to open that one up. I am really glad that you guys got something for President and Sister Corey. They will really enjoy it, and they deserve to get something like that. I can't believe the work that they do out here for us missionaries. I will be eternally grateful for all that they have done for me. It was good to hear that you thought of them. I am also glad that you guys sent Elder Lewis something as well. I think that he will really enjoy that. Thanks for all that you do!
It sounds as if you had an eventful weekend. I can see why Misti and Alan are getting a little nervous. It is their first baby, and it is only a month away. I can't believe that. I remember when you told me that Misti was having a baby, and now it is almost here. It is freaky how time flies by so fast.
It is good to hear that Mike and Keysha are doing well. I hope that everything continues to turn out well for Mike. I think that he will be able to do whatever he wants if he puts his time and efforts into doing it. Tell Mike that if he ever meets a Thomas Bryner at Utah State, then he also just met my Trainer. Elder Bryner is leaving in two weeks. That is so amazing. He hit his 1-year mark right before he trained me, and now he is about to go home. I just don't know what to think about all of it. I guess I just move on and forget about time.
I really think that I will be able to enjoy the Holidays this year. Of course, it won’t be the same experience I have every year with the Savage's, but it will still be fun. We, as a district, are going to be getting together for Christmas so that will be fun. I think that this will be a great experience. I will be able to truly focus on what Christmas is really about for the first time in my life. I was so focused on presents and stuff like that, that the importance of Christ was often lost to me. On top of it all, it will be nice to call home.
It is getting colder here in Indiana as well. We have experienced some days in the teens. It is just bringing back memories that I had with Elder Bryner. I am starting to understand why missionaries like the summer so much more now. I have had the opportunity to experience one as a missionary, and they are a lot more fun. We haven’t had too much snow here yet. I have been told that we don't usually get too much snow here in Indiana. That will make my job a little easier at least.
The work here in Connersville has been good. Our investigators are still doing well. Nothing new to add, but when it comes, I will let you know. As always, let me know if you guys have any questions, and I would be happy to answer them for you.
I will continue to let you guys know how my health is doing, but so far so good. There isn't anything to worry about. The prayers would be nice though. You never know when I might need it.
Love,
Elder Savage
