Well, in some ways...

Dear Family,
This past week was also very successful. Most of our investigators are doing very well. Mark is still working hard. He seems to be enjoying learning about all we have to teach him. He is still reading, and we hope that he will be able to gain a testimony about the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. Danny is also doing very well. We have been teaching him for quite some time now, and we were starting to feel as if he would never keep the commitments we left with him, and he just wasn't understanding the importance of the restoration. He couldn't understand why we needed it so badly, but this last week, we finally think that it sank in. A couple of nights before we went over, we called him and he said that he had finally done some reading that we asked him to do. We were very excited! Then, the day that we went bye to see him, he finally grasped the importance of the restoration. We were teaching his son about why we needed it. I used the example of a class room where the teacher was like the Apostles, and the students were like the church. We then said that the teacher was taken from the classroom after giving the students an assignment. Of course, Danny's son said that the kids would never do the assignment without someone there to tell them what to do. Things would get wild, and the kids wouldn’t follow the rules. Then Danny asked if they could have just gotten a sub, but we said that it wasn't possible to just sub in as a Prophet. A whole new teacher "prophet" had to be chosen and brought in. We were very excited that he finally understood.
I went on another exchange this past week with our Zone Leaders, Elder Freeman and Elder Stranski. It went very well! In the morning, I went with Elder Stranski to Ball State University campus where we talked to some students. I even got to have a great conversation about religion with a Muslim from East Africa. His name was Momodo. I think it is pronounced like "Mow Mow Do" but I am not completely sure.
We did a really good job this past week with finding new people to teach. We had some really neat experiences. One time, Elder Roberts and I were driving down Walnut Street. We passed by a house that I had remembered talking to a lady at. She had said that we could stop by again. I told Elder Roberts, and he pulled over and said that we should go say “Hello”. In that one stop, we found two new investigators…a less-active member, and two past investigators. It was very successful.
As you can tell, things are going well and I feel that I am continuously growing as a missionary. I can't believe how much I have learned in only a few months. I just hope that I can continue to grow that quickly my entire mission. In my personal study, I just got into The Book Of Helaman. The Nephites just suffered a severe defeat from the Lamanites and the Nephites are becoming more wicked. I have come to realize what it is that truly turns a people, or just one person, apostate, and that is pride. Pride is one of the most harmful things in existence. It can do so much damage if it is allowed to grow in our lives.
I hope that everyone is doing well, and that everyone is staying healthy. I was wondering when school ended for you guys. The summer semester of Ball State University just started Monday, so I wasn't sure how much time you had left.
I want you all to know that I love you very much, and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Thank you for all of your support.
Love,
Elder Savage
