But so is pday...

Dear Family,
Sorry about not writing yesterday. We had a big meeting with about half the mission and so we had to wait for P-Day till today.
Things are going well. I was able to get my package. Luckily we were already planning to go up to Bloomington anyway, so we just picked it up. There isn't anything that you can do about the signature thing. I found out that since I live in an apartment complex, I have to sign for it. It is required.
The short-sleeved shirts have been a big help. It has been very hot and humid lately. I can't believe how bad it can get here. Sometimes it will even feel like I am sitting in a sauna. On the other hand, it is very pretty here. Everything is so green, and sadly that only comes from the moisture and humidity. It is really amazing to drive out in the country.
It sounds like you had some fun up in Yankee Meadows. Basically you did many of the things that I can't do. I can't go canoeing, and I can't ride on 4-wheelers. If I get the chance though, I can go fishing. I can only do it from the shore though.
I had a bad experience with the sun out here. Last Saturday I was on an exchange in Bloomington and I was wearing one of my short-sleeves. It was very sunny, and I forgot my sunblock back in Bedford. Well, of course I ended up getting sunburned. That wasn't fun. Something strange has happened though. I actually TANNED just a little bit. I guess that the moisture out here in Indiana somehow helped. It is a little weird though. I have never before had a tan line where I wear my watch. I have been trying to be better at wearing sun block, and hopefully it doesn't happen again.
The work in Bedford has been good. There is nothing too exciting to report at the moment. We do have an investigator with a baptismal date, but he has some stuff to work on. We are also working with a few other investigators, but I will keep you updated on anything cool that happens.
I can tell that Elder Penrod is getting trunky. It is a little hard at the moment because he is making me a little trunky. I just have to remember that the work out here is great, and there is nothing I could be doing right now that is better than this.
I hope that everything goes well on the trip to Reno, and you are able to get Annie all of her stuff. I know that she will appreciate it very much.
It sounds as if Grandma is also enjoying the summer. I think that her spending time in Cedar is good for her. I also think that she likes it a lot better. It also sounds like you all are also enjoying your summer vacation. I, on the other hand, hope that it goes by very fast. I want the fall to come. Hopefully, a time when it is a little cooler. I am not looking forward to August, but I know that the Lord will give me the strength to make it through it.
Thank you for the package, especially for the cookies. They were still very good, and I finished off the last one a couple of days ago. I forgot how good they really were. It is nice to have something tasty every once in a while. I will also put the shirts to good use.
Love,
Elder Savage
P.S. If you noticed, I spent some money at a Dick's Sports Center in Bloomington. I was finally able to find the Camelbak that I was looking for. It is called the Cloudwalker. It is pretty cool.
