Transfer time again...

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Dear Family,

Yes, I am getting transferred. I really don't want to be, I am settled in, but I guess that is when they need to think about getting you out of an area. I don't know where I am going though, so don't send anything to this Muncie address anymore. If you haven't sent the package yet, I would like to ask you to hold off on it until I can email you next week, but if you have already sent it, then don't worry about it.

I know. I am going to hit 5 months this Sunday. How is it possible that I have been out on my mission for that long? Time just seems to be breezing by. Before I know it, it is going to start getting cold again. It is almost scary to me. I just have to do as much as I can with the time I am given. The thing that hit me the hardest this week is that a year ago at this time, I GRADUATED! How is it possible that a year has already gone by.

The allergies are still bad out here. I had high hopes that the humidity would help some, but sadly my hopes were dashed.  That’s OK though. I still have my good old backup, Sudafed. The worst part is how many pets Hoosier's (people from Indiana) have. I can't believe it, but I can walk into a small house out here, and see 6 dogs and cats sometimes. It is so nuts!

The King Follett Sermon is very cool. It goes into so much detail on stuff that I would never have thought about before, and we as missionaries discuss them quite often. Like how there was a council of God's before the world was. Does that mean that there was a head God, and our Heavenly Father was another one that was present? It is just so cool to think about those things. I just always need to remember that those things aren't very important, until I fully understand the basics. We can always grow in the basics. For example, faith should never stop growing. As it shows in Ether, we can reach the point in our faith where even Christ can't hide his presence from us any more. I feel as if that should always be our goal.

So you won't believe this, but I went golfing today. That is why we emailed later than usual. I even scored a par on one hole. It was really fun! I can now see why people get so addicted to it. It may be something I will want to look into when I get home. It is one of the most relaxing things that I have ever done.

It is cool that Levi has been helping Grandma. I hope that things are going well for him. I can see the effect of the economy out here (even in my missionary bubble). Muncie is horrible for that. It used to be a huge factory town. There was even a big GM plant here, but about 10 years ago they shut and tore it down. So, many people have lost their jobs, and there are tons of vacant houses.

Tell Misti congrats for me! It is really exciting that this is going on. I hope that everything goes well for her. When I read your email, it made me realize that Misti's baby will be 1 year old when I get home. I was not expecting the changes that can take place while I am gone. It is so weird!

Everything is also going well for me. Nothing very exciting, but I will be able to tell you where my new area is next Tuesday. Thank you for all of your support. I hope that everything goes well for you this week, and that everyone stays safe.

Love,

Elder Savage

Waiting on a “Transfer”... so we’re not sure about an address for another week.
