New Companion On The Way...

Dear Family,

Well, it’s been over six month. It doesn’t seem possible. Time is just going by way too quickly. It seems like it was just yesterday that I went into the MTC. On the bright side, I finally dropped the title of Green Missionary, but on the other hand, the longer I am out here, the more responsibility I have. It’s kind of a win-lose situation. I just have to buckle down and make the next 18 months worthwhile.

It sounds like life in Cedar has been eventful. I remember all of mom’s mass-produced Christmas presents. I guess with all of the sewing that she has done through her life, a sewing accident was bound to eventually happen. I hope that you guys took care of it, and watch it to make sure that it doesn't get infected. Also, I hope that mom has had a tetanus shot in the past few years. I have had to do a little sewing myself out here. I’m just glad that it hasn’t been too much yet.

It’s hard to really imagine Misti being pregnant. It just doesn’t work out in my mind. Actually, her baby is going to turn a year old around the time I come home. That is going to be strange as well. I guess that life at home doesn't stand still while I come out on a mission.

The summer is going by so fast. It is really nice for me because it just means less hot and humid weather. But I don't really know if I would rather it be hot or cold. Both can be miserable. We have had a really mild summer here from what the locals tell me. They say it should be much hotter than it has been. To me, that is a great blessing because the humidity is horrible. I just come home each day feeling all sweaty and sticky. It isn't fun!

It sounds like Zak is going to be a good baseball player. I never was very good at sports. I'm still not very good. We play basketball out here sometimes, and I just try my best.

Our investigators are still doing well. Thor is still on track. He is having some trouble so we are bumping his baptismal date back, but he still has a strong desire, and I know that he will make it through this. We are also still teaching Ashton and Bobby-Joe. We haven't been able to have another lesson with them yet. It is hard to catch them. But I am determined to do so.

It’s transfer time again this week. I think that I am staying in Bedford, but I can never be 100% sure. Since Elder Penrod is going home, I am guaranteed to get a new companion.

That is about all for this week, but I hope that everything at home continues to go well. I will try to send you a photo card some time this week. There are some funny pictures!

Thanks for everything.

Love,

Elder Savage
