Elder Smith Is From La Verkin, Utah...

Dear Family,
Things this past week have gone very well. Last Wednesday, I went up to Fishers, Indiana with Elder Penrod. From what I know, he is now in Arizona, and I brought back Elder Smith. It is somewhat surprising, but Elder Smith is from La Verkin, Utah. It is weird to be serving with someone who lived only 40 minutes away from me back home. It's funny how that kind of stuff works out sometimes. He has been out on his mission for almost 15 months now, and his past two companions before me were both in my MTC District; Elder Bushnell, and my MTC companion Elder Huntsman. He is really into soccer, but most importantly he is a great, obedient missionary. He is also a very hard worker.
We have had many blessings happen this week. We found so many new people to teach this week. We actually set up 8 return appointments with people for the coming week. Some of them are more solid than others, but I hope that they will all progress. Elder Smith is a great missionary and he is teaching me a lot. I think that this will be a great transfer for me. I am excited to see what happens here in Bedford.
Yesterday, we had a really good lesson with an investigator, Mark Walker. He is an engineer who works at Crane, a giant 100 sq. mile naval base right in the middle of Indiana. We sat down to talk with him last night, and right off the bat he said that he read through the pamphlet that we gave him, and he was going to be a hard sale. He said that he was a very analytical thinker, but he also asked so many perfect questions that missionaries love to hear. We were able to teach him about the restoration, and he said that he was going to do some thorough study of the Book of Mormon. That is exactly what we wanted him to say. We are very excited to go back and teach him.
It sounds like you are having fun in Cedar. It has been very nice here in Bedford for the past week. As I have said before, we are going through a very mild summer and I would rather have cool and rain instead of hot and humid. I hate the humidity! That is one reason I like Cedar City so much more now. There isn't so much moisture in the air. With the moisture comes mosquitoes, and I feel as if I am being eaten alive. When we go shopping today, I am definitely going to get some repellent. I really hate all the itching. Also, I think that I may be spending a little money out of my account today to get some stuff.
You are right about time flying by. I can't believe that my 20th birthday is in just a few weeks. I can't possibly be that old. I want to stay a teenager. I am actually going to be 21 when I get home. That is very weird. On the other hand, I have learned enough stuff in the past six months, that it feels like I have been out for my whole two years already. I already know that my mission has been more of a blessing than I could ever have imagined. I am so excited to be out here doing this great work.
Today, after we get all of our laundry and shopping done, we are going up to Bloomington to play some sand volleyball. That is going to be a lot of fun, but I will have to remember to put on some sun block before. I do tan up here, but painful sunburn isn't worth it just to get a little darker.
I was thinking about it, and I don't remember if I asked to do this, but will you look on iTunes and tell me if they have any EFY on there. If you would just tell me what years they have, or if they have any, that would be great. I was hoping to be able to get some past year’s music.
Once again, things are going well here. I hope that everyone is keeping themselves very safe. I have been trying to do so with myself. Thanks for all that you do. I don't think you will ever understand how much your support helps.
Love,
Elder Savage
