But All Is Well...

Dear Family,

I truly hope that Grandma is doing OK. I remember when she got the hip replacement. That was a little strange. I just hope that everything heals correctly. Make sure she doesn't work too hard on it.

So, I guess that we all have had some exciting stories this past week. Actually, Elder Smith, Elder Ireland, and I got into a car wreck last Wednesday. We are all OK, but it was quite exciting. We were driving down a highway, going about 55, and our destination on Elder Irelands GPS was coming up. So, I warned Elder Smith. Well, he slowed down and turned on the blinker, but he turned on the right side and we were supposed to be turning left. So, he quickly switched to the other side blinker and started to turn. What none of us noticed was that there was a UPS truck behind us, and when Elder Smith turned the right blinker on, the UPS man tried to go around us? Sadly, he was following us too closely, and he wasn't able to correct his driving fast enough. He ended up hitting the back right side of the car, and it spun us a few times turning us 180 degrees into the yard of the house we were pulling into. None of us really got hurt, but Elder Ireland had a sore neck. We are all perfectly fine. It was quite an interesting experience though. One of the worst parts about the whole ordeal is that Elder Irelands GPS took us to the wrong house. Well, now I can say that I have an interesting mission story. And, as I said before, I am fine so don't worry. The car is a little beat up though. I truly believe that with how fast that highway was, there was "someone else" in that car with us. Basically, none of us got a scratch.

It is too bad that you guys weren't able to go and see Elder Cook speak. That would have been a great experience, but I know that you needed to take care of Grandma.

I can't believe that Mike is getting married so fast. It is just so soon after getting home. I hope that I don't move that fast. If I did, that would mean I would be married within two years from this point. I just hope that things turn out well for them.

I know that there probably isn’t too much exciting going on in school. It is about the same every year. Not too much difference from year to year.

Things out here have been good. We had a really good lesson this past week with a whole family. It was with Tina and Gina, the twin sisters, and everyone else who was home. Usually, that house is a mad house, but surprisingly everyone was able to relax for the most part and participate in the lesson. The spirit is an amazing being. A couple of the other kids really seemed to be interested as well.

We also had another really good lesson with a man and his wife. It seemed as if we couldn't say or do anything wrong in their eyes. They truly accepted it all. It was amazing! We have really been seeing some miracles this past week. It is amazing to see what the Lord can do.

Also this week, we were asked to take a survey on the computer. It was just asking some questions about the mission, and our opinions on a few things. It was also asking some questions about our individual areas that we work in, and about the Ward. The cool thing about this is that we have a general authority coming to speak to us in October. I don't know exactly who it is, but I am really excited. Those have always been really great meetings.

I am going to try and send a camera card this week, and I am also going to send home one of my name tags that I want you to take care of. It was the one that I got in the MTC. The wording is starting to wear away.

Dad, I saw this Michael Jordan ESPN magazine yesterday. I was hoping that you could get a copy of it so that I would be able to read it when I get home. It was all about him, and I think it would be neat to have.

Tell Trudy that I’ll look out for her package, and thank her for me!

Thanks for all the support that you guys give me. I truly know that you are all backing me up in this great work. Just keep it up!

Love,

Elder Savage

P.S. Let me know if you guys ever have questions, I would be happy to answer them.
