Here in Indiana

Dear Family,
Thanks for getting the college catalog to me. I actually got it last preparation day. I have taken a look at it, but I haven't exactly decided on what I want to do. I will do that today, and then get you the info. Thanks for all of the help that you've given me.
Things are going great here. Geneva is still holding strong. She is still trying to overcome some of her challenges, but I know that she can do it. She is a very strong-willed person, and with God on her side, anything is possible. I can't imagine what it would be like to try and quit smoking. I was able to stop drinking pop, but I can't compare the two. We have also started to teach her son. He is doing well, and hopefully they will be able to lift each other up and be their own supports.
It has been really interesting to be put into two wards now. We go to 6 hours of church every Sunday. We are also trying to work with more people, and we have to try and balance the work so that we aren't giving more to one ward than to another. It is a neat experience though. It lets me know, just a taste, of what the Elders in Utah do. The lucky thing for them though, is that they have a lot of members finding people to teach. The Elders there just have to do the teaching.
It is really interesting to hear about Austin. I can't believe that we have been out that long. It is crazy to think. It would be interesting to be able to extend a mission for a few months more. If he does, I hope that he is able to learn the language very fast. It usually takes a while, even for missionaries, to learn the language. I bet it will be a big difference in culture for him as well. From what I have learned, there are many different religions in India. I actually met a lady out here who is from southern India. She is a Christian, and she grew up in India. She said that, as the story goes, the ancient apostle Thomas visited India. He taught of Christ, and set up 7 churches in their country. That would be really cool to do some actual research about.
Halloween was OK. We had to come inside at 6:00 pm yesterday because of all of the children outside. Not to mention the crazy people! Here in Indiana, they did most of their Halloween celebration on Sunday. It is too bad that there aren't as many people who worry about keeping the Sabbath. I know what you mean about the Lord's name in vain thing. I have begun to realize that I hate hearing it used that way. I wish people would realize what they were doing when they did that. It is sad to see what a decaying nation will turn to. I just hope that we will be able to remain strong when the time comes and make the right decisions. The most important thing is to start making the right choices now, so that when the time does come, it is really easy to make the right choice then.
It is cool to hear about Breven. I can't believe that his mission is up, but then I also can't believe that my 22 month mark is next Sunday. Time just flew by way too fast. I only have one more transfer left after this one. There is a really good chance that I will finish my mission here in Columbus. There is also a chance that they may move me though. I just don't know what is going to happen.
Thanks for everything that you guys do for me. Just keep me in your prayers, and I will keep you in mine. I love you all very much. Stay safe, and continue to do what is right. There is safety in obedience.
Love,
Elder Savage
