Just 5 More Weeks
Monday, December 6, 2010
Dear Family,
So, I am now in Richmond Indiana. If you remember last year, I was in Connersville. On Christmas of last year, Elder Lewis and I came up to Richmond to spend the day with the Elders up here. Well, now they have sent me back here to spend another Christmas in the Richmond apartment. I am very excited to be here. It is a great city, and we have already been able to get a lot of good work done. My new companion’s name is Elder Lowe. He has been on his mission for five months tomorrow, I think. He is a great missionary. He is very diligent, and willing to be obedient. I know that together we will be able to get a lot of great work done this last transfer. The Lord has blessed me a lot.
My new address is:
1610 N. B St.
Richmond IN, 47374
You finally have an address to reach me at. It has been a long time.
I hope that you will be able to enjoy your Christmas party. You have spent a lot of time and effort on it. You might as well sit back and enjoy it when it comes. I remember those parties being a lot of fun. Tell everyone hi for me.
I am so happy to hear that Grandma is spend Christmas with you. I think that it will be a lot of fun. I will be so excited to see Grandma again when I come home. Tell her hi for me as well. Have fun with the games.
I had a great Thanksgiving. It was different from the ones I am used to back home, but it was great. I had fun!
I hope that the good weather you are getting right now will also come to relieve us as well. We walked out of the house this morning and it was 13 degrees outside. That is cold on the face with all the humidity. I was a little shocked when I felt it. I think that it is supposed to warm up by the end of the week though. I really don't want my shoes to get destroyed by the weather, so I think that I may go to the Tractor Supply Company today and see if I can get a pair of Galoshes to wear over my shoes. Then they will stay nice.
Thanks so much for taking care of the college things for me. It is so nice to know that I don't have to worry about any of that stuff, but that it will be set up for me when I get home. I will be excited to jump into school and get to work. Thank you all.
So, Elder Lowe and I have been having a lot of miracles happen this past week. We have already found three new investigators. One already has a baptismal date, and the other two we met yesterday. The two are a couple, Jason and Rashel. They have a 19-month old son Gabriel. They are a great couple. He is a Catholic, but he is searching for truth. She has a Pentecostal religious background, but it surprised Elder Lowe and I when she didn't object for the need to be baptized by the proper authority. Usually, they say something like "but I have already been baptized". It was great.
Goodie care packages are always nice, but as for anything specific I need, I think that I am OK. I don't need anything special. I am just going to try to work hard, and get everything done that needs to get done. Please don't do too much…I will only be here for about 2 weeks or so after Christmas. I am very grateful though.
Life here is going well. The work is the same as always…just a different place and time, as well as different people. The Gospel stays the same though.
Thanks so much for all that you do. Take care of yourselves, and stay safe. I am excited to see you all again very soon. I will keep you in my prayers, and please keep me in yours.
Love,
Elder Savage
