Be in Terre Haute Another 6 Weeks

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Dear Family,

Well first off, I am staying in Terre Haute for at least another 6 weeks. Elder Pinckney on the other hand is leaving, so I will be getting a new companion. It is going to be a little odd to get used to another missionary, as always, but it will bring in new things too. Hopefully, with the new blood, we will be able to stir things up a little here.

Now, about Mr. Mac's, I never did get anything from them. I don't know what happened, but hopefully they will be able to get things switched around.

We have had really good temperatures here lately. Nice and warm, between 60-80 degrees, but we have had some interesting storms for sure. We have had a couple of big storms the past few nights that have been doosies. There was a lot of rain, and a whole lot of lightening. Also, for the past couple of storms, we have been on tornado watches. That always makes things interesting, but we try to take care of ourselves.

I was really sick for about a 16-hour period from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning. It was weird. We came in for break after church Sunday, and I took a short nap. When we went out to work, I started to feel crummy and by that night, I was really sick. The thermometer said my temperature was between 100.6-101 degrees, and I was shaking all over. I was also freezing cold. Luckily, we have a member doctor here in Terre Haute, and he gave me some suggestions. I took some Tylenol to get rid of the fever. He also said to drink lots of fluids. By the time I was up and moving the next morning, I was feeling a lot better. I was just hurting from the residual pains. I’m fine now, but it was really weird. The weirdest part was how short it lasted.

It is good to hear that things are going really well back home. I am excited about all the little changes you are making around the house. It will be cool to see, but sadly, I will get home in the middle of the winter when I won't really be able to tell.

Things are going great here! I have to hurry because the day is going to be strange. Elder Felton found out that his dad is in the ICU back home because of a bike wreck. He is hurt quite badly, especially because he has had previous neck injuries, and so we are all a little frazzled. Sorry that the email is so short. I may try to write a letter later.

I will call Dad's cell number on Saturday to set up a call for Mother’s Day. I will be excited to talk to you all on Sunday. Take good care of yourselves, and take care of each other.

Love,

Elder Savage
