I’ve been called to be a district leader
Tuesday, June 15, 2010
Dear Family,
Things here in Terre Haute are going great. We did get a call this morning, but it was from President Corey. He called and asked me to be a district leader. This just means that I get more responsibility. I now am in charge of my companion and two other sets of Elder in the mission. I have to make sure that they are taken care of, and that they are safe. I really have to be in tune with the spirit because they will call me for a lot of stuff too. I will also have to prepare a training about once a week to give to the District. This is going to be an interesting, but great, learning experience. I will definitely pray that god will qualify me for this calling.
I hope that Trudy and Dad aren't too sick. I don't like to hear when you guys back home are sick. Hopefully, you will take care of yourselves and not let anything else happen.
The work here is going really well. We met with Tina and her family yesterday. The bishop came with us and it was a great idea to take him. He was really helpful when it came to explaining things to their kids. They are doing great, and even Tina's husband is coming around. We asked him if it was OK for us to be teaching and baptizing his wife and kids. He was fine with it. Hopefully he will be able to join them before too long.
We have also been finding a lot more people around town. There are a lot of people here in town that could really use our help, and I just hope that they will accept the help we give. I think that the Lord is really blessing Elder Udy and I. I don't exactly know what we are doing right, but whatever it is, we need to keep it up.
Thanks for all you have been doing for me. I don't know if I am going to be able to send you my shoes pictures this week again. I think that if you guys just pick out a nice looking pair of Ecco shoes, in size 44, then I will enjoy them. I am not too worried about it. Just look for a pair that is meant to last for a long time. The people that were at the shoe store I was at a month ago knew which ones would last, and which wouldn't. Just find one that will last and get those. Thanks for everything you have done for me. Take care of yourselves, and always stay faithful.
Love,
Elder Savage
