From Terre Haute
Tuesday, July 27, 2010
Dear Family,
As you can see from the subject, I am sticking around in Terre Haute for another Transfer. Elder Udy, on the other hand, is leaving. It is weird that he was here for only 2 transfers, and then they decide to ship him off. I know that he is going where he needs to though. President Collins has decided to change our Preparation Day. Today is the last Tuesday to be P-Day. From now on, including next week, Prep. Day is on Monday. So, if you don't send your email by Sunday night every week now, I won't get it till the next Monday. So, remember to email me this coming Sunday. I don't know why he did this, he didn't explain, but I do know that he knows what he is doing. That is all that matters.
There is one cool thing that is coming up. If I stay here in Terre Haute through September, then I get to go to the Bloomington Stake Conference. The cool thing about that is that Elder Jeffery R. Holland is going to be there in person. I truly hope I stick around here long enough.
It sounds like you had a ton of fun on vacation. I think that it would be cool to visit Cherry Hill again. Hopefully, I can get into a little better shape too. I did, this past week, decide to not drink soda any more. I have made it so far, and I hope that it will help a lot. I think that I also want to keep up the biking when I get home. If I could get up and do it every morning, it would definitely help me get into good shape. I can't wait to see everyone. I am so excited to be able to talk to you all again. I hope that all of the cousins haven't changed too much, and that Levi doesn't turn into a giant. I have been playing a lot of basketball on Preparation Day over the past few months, and I was hoping to be able to keep playing with Levi when I get home. I just need to get really good on my mission now, because Levi is going to have a lot of height on me. I think it would be fun to do though.
Dad, I hope that your ankle thing doesn't keep happening. I could see that becoming a pain. I guess it is preventable…you will just have to keep track of what causes it.
Thanks for getting the new suit for me. It will truly come in handy in the future. I will continue to wear what I have until it falls apart, but it will be great to have a suit that really looks good as well. I will also be able to put the new shirts to use as well. You guys do so much for me. I can't thank you enough.
It sounds like you had fun at the cabin on the 24th. I haven't seen mountains for so long. All we have out here are big hills. We will have to go up to the cabin next summer. It will also be cool to be able to have time to play games again. I am so very grateful to be able to serve the Lord, but sometimes you do miss things. I just hope that I am able to continue to have great success and fun for this last portion of my mission. President Collins is a great Mission President, and we are going to get a lot done with him here. I know that this is a once in an eternity opportunity, I need to take full advantage of the time I do have left.
Well, I think that as far as I know at this point in time, I will be getting home around the 10th of January. I am still going to pray about it, but tell Mom that I would at least like her to send me out a catalog for school. That is one thing that they will let me do out here. They will let me take some time on my preparation day to prepare for school if I decide to go home for that.
Hopefully, you will have everything ready for school in a couple of weeks. I can't believe that you have another year starting already. Time truly does fly by, and we need to make the best of what we have when we have it. Thanks for all that you do for me. You guys do so much, and I couldn't have done this without you. Take care, and I will talk to (email) you next Monday.
Love,
Elder Savage
