They’re Already Planning My Trip Home

Dear Family,

It is good to hear that Mom is doing well, and that her finger is healing. I don't like it whenever I have something wrong. It just makes life a little harder in one way or another, but it is good to hear that Annie and Levi are willing to help.

The weather here has been normal for Indiana. We did have a couple of really high temperatures a couple of weeks ago, but hopefully it gets back to normal soon. I have learned what it means to have to peal a shirt off of my back. I also should be drinking a lot of water to keep hydrated.

I can't believe that you have already gone through two weeks of school. Does life continue to go by faster and faster as time goes on? If it does, then my life is going to fly by without me knowing it. I need to enjoy the here and now, rather than worrying too much about the future. Hopefully, you will be able to get back into the swing of things for school. It never is fun to feel exhausted.

I would love to go to a couple of plays next summer. I would enjoy seeing "The Music Man". It would also be cool to see a Shakespearean Comedy. Hopefully, we can do that next year. It will probably be really cool because of the 50th Anniversary. Maybe they will do something extra special.

I bet Mom is enjoying having extra time each day to do things. Hopefully, she will be able to get used to doing half days, and be able to do the other things that she wants done. I think it would be good if you guys eventually did some traveling.

Things have been going good. Sarah's baptism is still set for the 28th of August, and Elder Worden and I are happy for her. We ate with her and her husband on Saturday. It was a little weird because he told her that he didn't want any discussions about the church. He did ask a lot of questions about missionary work though, and that went well. I think that with a lot of perseverance and patience, he will eventually come around. Sarah is a great lady, and she is also going to be a good influence on Joe, her husband. We are going to continue to work hard, and with our efforts and help from the Lord, we will be able to see success.

I forgot to tell you that a couple of weeks ago I got a call from our mission office in Carmel. Sister Lyon, one of the Office Sisters, asked me a shocking question.  She needed to know which airport I wanted to fly into in January. I couldn't believe it. I was actually at the point on my mission that they are worrying about getting my flight stuff taken care of. I told them that I wanted to fly into the St. George airport. She said that she would see what she could do.

Let Grandma know that I have a letter for her, but I still need to send it. I just want her to know that I haven't forgotten about her.

Thanks for everything. You guys take care, and let me know if you have any questions, or if there is anything I can do for you from all the way out here. I love you all.

Love,

Elder Savage
