Wonderful Weather
Monday, August 2, 2010
Dear Family,
This past week has been great. Compared to the previous weeks of weather. It was wonderful. The temperature was around the mid 80's for most of the week. I was able to stay a little cooler, and we even got one or two nice breezes in. I am also glad that you didn't forget that my Preparation Day is moved now. It is a little weird to think about, but truthfully, it doesn't feel any different.
This week really did fly by. Elder Worden (my new companion) and I got some work done. Elder Worden is from a place called Kilgore Texas. He has been out on his mission for 5 months tomorrow. So, the really weird thing is that he has been out on his mission for about as long as I have left on my mission. He is a great missionary with a wonderful desire to serve. It makes my life easier not having to worry about him as much.
I know how you feel with every new school year. Every time I get transferred, I have to learn a new city layout, a new companion, and the ward. It does get tiresome after a while, but my thought is that I will only have one more area. I think that when I get moved again, I will go home from that place, but I guess we will have to see if I am right.
So, the party sounds like it will be a lot of fun. It would be cool to see a lot of distant relatives that I have never met before.
I can't believe that I only have 5 months left either. It will be really weird when September rolls around, and I will have been out for 20 months. I have missed you guys a lot as well. Hopefully, when I get home we can find a moment to have some fun together. It will be weird to get home and not have something huge in front of me. I spent the first 19 years of my life knowing that I had a giant bridge I was going to cross before I could move on. That bridge was my mission. Now, it is almost over, and I can almost see the other side. It is weird to think about how I don't have something huge in front of me. Of course, I will go to school and I will start dating, but it isn't as set in stone.
So, things around here have been great. We have had a lot of success. Sarah is still working towards her baptism on the 28th of August. She is doing very well, and we are proud of her. We are also working with a couple of other hopefuls, and we will keep trying to find more.
I do remember playing in the gutters in the streets when it rained. Actually, the weird thing is that I have thought about that before on my mission. So, it is funny that you bring it up.
Everyone take care, and don't overwork yourselves. Have a good week. I love you all very much.
Love,
Elder Savage
