Just 1 More Week

Monday, January 3, 2011

Dear Family,

I hope that you guys had fun on the New Year’s Eve Party. Elder Lowe and I just spent the night planning for the next week, and then we went to bed at our usual 10:30. At least I didn't lose any sleep. It is too bad to hear about Aunt Andrea. I hope that her surgery goes well, and that she will be up and moving quickly after her surgery.

Actually, Elder Lowe and I had an interesting December 31st. The day before I was on an exchange in Richmond with one of the Elders in Connersville and Elder Lowe was down in Connersville. Well, while I was up here I lost the phone somewhere in Richmond. Elder Doxey, the missionary I was with, and I spent about an hour looking for the phone, but it was nowhere to be found. The next day, Elder Lowe and I had to drive all the way up to Muncie to get another phone so that we could attach our old phone number to it. Now we have a phone, but we are having to get all of our old phone numbers and hand punch them in. It is a tedious job, but I guess that is what I get for losing the phone. Oh well, these things happen.

As you have said we had good weather the last week here in Indiana. Actually, on Dec. 31st, it got up into the 60's according to our car. I can't believe it was that warm the day before the new year. We enjoyed it though. Now, I just hope to be able to survive the cold for the next week.

Hopefully, you were able to get everything prepared for your kids to return tomorrow. Things like that usually turn out just fine. I have noticed that in my life when things change, I worry about it, and then when it happens it works out.  Hopefully, the kids aren't way tired though.

I talked to President Collins last Monday right before he called you. He is such a great man! I will truly miss having him around. He was very good at being able to help me out. I know that this mission is in very good hands. The Lord chooses His servants well.

Thanks for getting everything taken care of for me. It gives me comfort knowing that I won't have to worry about things at home, but that everything is ready. Tell Levi that I am very excited to come home and see him too. Hopefully, it isn't too much work to catch up on the two days of school I will miss, and Levi and I can spend time doing something together.

I know I say this a lot, but I want you all to know that I couldn't do any of this without you. You all have been a great support to me, especially over this past week, and I want you all to know that you have made things a lot easier on me out here. You have been a great blessing for me. I want you all to take care and stay safe, and know that I love you all, and I am excited to see you all next week.

Love,

Elder Savage

P.S.  I will probably be on the computer one week from Today since I don't go to Carmel until later on Monday next week. So, if you want to update me on anything or have anything to tell me, I will probably be able to read it next Monday. If not, that is OK because I will be able to see you guys the next day.
